Elementary School Parent Pick-Up Car Line Procedures Update

Elementary School Parent Pick-Up Car Line Procedures Update

Good afternoon WCS Elementary Families,

As you may have heard, we are making some updates to the Door 12 Parent Pick-Up Car Line procedures for this school year. To help reduce the length of the line and make the process more efficient, each household with students in Kindergarten through 5th grade will be assigned a car line number.

Each household will receive:

  • 2 mirror placards to hang in your vehicle(s)

  • 3 backpack tags to attach to your child(ren)’s backpacks
The placards and tags will look like the attached picture

How it works:
The adult picking up will hang the placard from their rearview mirror. A supervisor outside will use that number to call into the school, and an inside supervisor will send out the students with the matching backpack tag. Students will then proceed directly to their cars.

How to pick up your materials:
The oldest elementary student in your household may pick up your car tags at Supply Drop-Off on Thursday, August 7 from 3:00–4:00 p.m.
If you are unable to attend, you may pick them up in the office between 7:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. before the first day of school. If needed, we can also send the materials home with your child on the first day.

We appreciate your patience as we adjust to this new system. While it may take a week or two to get used to, we expect it will help the car line run much more smoothly moving forward.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.
