Important Kindergarten Information for the 2026-2027 School Year
Dear Parents and Guardians,
The following message is intended for parents and guardians of students who will be entering kindergarten in the 2026-2027 school year.
District 300 would like to officially welcome all families preparing to enroll their child (or children) into kindergarten for the 2026-2027 school year!
The district has posted a presentation focusing on kindergarten and the Dual Language Program online. This presentation and more details can be accessed at d300.org/Kindergarten. District 300 encourages families of incoming kindergartners to view this presentation, as it will contain valuable insight into the kindergarten experience, an overview of the Dual Language program, and important information regarding the registration process.
Kindergarten Online Registration Opens March 2, 2026
- Please register by Friday, May 15, 2026, to avoid delays associated with enrollment for the 2026-2027 school year
- Students Returning to District 300: If you are the parent of a current District 300 preschool student who will be returning to kindergarten for the 2026-27 school year, you will receive an email on Monday, March 2, 2026, with instructions on how to register your student. The link to register returning students can be found here.
- Students New to District 300: If you are the parent of an incoming kindergarten student who is new to District 300 (including those with siblings already enrolled), please contact your child’s school registrar. If you are unsure which school your child will attend, enter your address on the District 300 My School Locator website or email OLR@d300.org. When you receive the link for a new application from the registrar, here are the new student enrollment instructions.
Kindergarten Orientation at the School Level
In Summer 2026, school principals will communicate with all incoming kindergarten families to schedule an orientation for late summer. These orientations will occur at your student’s base building. During the orientation, students and families will learn about academic programming, tour the building, and receive additional information specific to the school. Additionally, students will take a bus ride to prepare them for the new school year.
If you have any additional questions, please reach out to our registrar, Susie Johnson, at susan.johnson1@d300.org 847-532-7600.
Kind regards,
Jenn Breeze
