Important Safety Message from Dr. Smith: As Superintendent Dr.
Martina Smith shared in her summer communications, starting this year,
our schools will be strengthening emergency response procedures by
implementing the Standard Response Protocol and the Standard
Reunification Method, both developed by the “I Love U Guys”
Foundation.
The Standard Response Protocol outlines five clear actions: Hold, Secure,
Lockdown, Evacuate, and Shelter. These actions are designed to help
keep students and staff safe in a variety of situations, including medical
events, severe weather, police activity near the school, and more. In
addition, District 300 is adopting the Standard Reunification Method to
provide a safe and organized process for reuniting students with their
families should an emergency occur.
